Desperate Housewives to end in 2011

Many consider seven to be a lucky number. Marc Cherry hopes it is for him too.
The Desperate Housewives creator just signed a four-year, eight-figure deal with ABC that will ensure that life continues on Wisteria Lane through May 2011. ABC has already signed the key Desperate Housewives cast to deals through 2011.
At that point, the series will end, Cherry told Variety magazine.
"After seven seasons, it will be a good time to call it quits. I don't want anyone else to run the show, and I don't want us to fade away."
Of course, if the show somehow stays popular, expect Desperate Housewives to continue past 2011.
