Prince Harry to be sent to Iraq

Prince Harry will be serving as a soldier in Iraq by the end of the month, The Daily Mirror reported Saturday.
The Daily Mirror newspaper -- citing an unnamed senior military official -- reported that Defense Secretary Des Browne is expected to announce Feb. 26 that the prince, who is third in line to the throne, will be deployed along with his regiment near Basra in southern Iraq.
A royal family spokesman declined to comment and the Defense Ministry called the report speculative, saying upcoming Iraq deployments had yet to be finalized.
The 22-year-old prince, known as Troop Commander Wales by his regiment -- the Blues and Royals -- has trained to command 11 soldiers and four Scimitar tanks.
The Defense Ministry has previously confirmed Harry could go to Iraq if his unit was deployed there, but said he might be kept out of situations where his presence would jeopardize his comrades.
Harry's brother Prince William, training as a troop leader within the Blues and Royals, cannot be deployed to war zones because he is second in line to the British crown.
Britain has 7,000 troops based in southern Iraq and plans to reduce numbers through the course of 2007, government officials have said.
Harry, who graduated last year from Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, said in a 2005 interview that he was keen to fight for his country.
"There's no way I'm going to put myself through Sandhurst and then sit on my arse back home while my boys are out fighting for their country."
In joining the military, Harry followed a royal tradition: Charles was a pilot with the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy and Harry's grandfather, Prince Philip, had a distinguished career in the Royal Navy.
Harry's uncle, Prince Andrew, was a Royal Navy pilot and served in the Falklands war against Argentina.

Tickets for Diana's concert sold out

Tickets for a pop concert to mark the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death sold out in minutes on Wednesday, Yahoo! News reports.
The concert, organized by Diana's sons Princes Harry and William, will take place at the new Wembley stadium in London next July and feature acts including
Elton John, Duran Duran and Pharrell Williams.
"The initial allocation of tickets has now been sold and we hope more tickets will be available at a later date," said a spokeswoman for the princes.
She added that around 22,500 tickets were sold in 20 minutes on Wednesday, and that the capacity for the event was likely to be about 60,000. More tickets may go on sale at a later date via the concert's Web site www.concertfordiana.com.
The face value of tickets is 45 pounds ($89) each, although they attracted bids of up to 500 pounds each on the online auction site www.ebay.co.uk early on Wednesday.
EBay, which has been criticized in the past when tickets to charity concerts have appeared on its site, later promised to remove them as soon as possible "as a mark of respect for the memory of the late Diana."
There is speculation that John may repeat his performance of the modified version of "Candle In the Wind" which he sang at Diana's funeral in 1997. He had vowed he would never play it again unless asked by the princes.
As well as the concert, there will be a church memorial service for Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997.

Harry and William plan concert for Diana

Princes William and Harry plan to stage a concert with performers next year to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of their mother Princess Diana.
The Sunday Mirror reported that the brothers would arrange the event, scheduled to be held July 1, 2007 at London's renovated Wembley Stadium, which can hold around 90,000 spectators.
The Live Aid-style charity extravaganza will boast A-list performers from Britain and America and will be beamed to millions on TV worldwide.
Sir Elton John is likely to bring the star-studded show to an emotional close with a rendition of his Diana tribute, Candle in the Wind. One source said last night: "There will not be a dry eye in the house."
Organisers are confident that the concert will be the largest - and grandest - ever staged. Diana was a huge music fan, and attended Live Aid with Prince Charles - and 72,000 other fans - at the old Wembley in July 1985.
The princes wanted the most public celebration possible of Diana's life.
Proceeds would be donated to British homeless charity Centrepoint and other causes supported by Diana, the newspaper reported. It was expected to be screened live on television.
Paddy Harverson, spokesman for Prince Charles, could not immediately confirm the report.

Boob-groping Harry
By Derek Brown
Party loving Princes William and Harry hugged drunkenly for the camera during a booze-fuelled night out with chums.
Royal heir William, 24, looked dazed and wide-eyed as the flash went off — while brother Harry leered merrily over his shoulder.
Harry was also snapped canoodling with pretty blonde Natalie Pinkham, while saucily groping her boob with one hand.
Meanwhile William was caught trying a more “tactful” approach with another party girl as they chatted in the background.
The fun-loving shots were taken this summer in trendy London nightclub Boujis — a favourite haunt for the princes.
And they may leave Harry with a little explaining to do to girlfriend Chelsy Davy, who was abroad at the time.
A fellow reveller at the club in posh Kensington said: “Harry was really going for it.
“He had been downing drink all night and was touchy-feely with everyone — especially Natalie. He had his hands all over her and was kissing her on the face. At one point he reached his arm around her and gave her a proper grope on her breast.
“She was very shocked but didn’t seem to mind in the slightest. I don’t suppose it’s every day an heir to the throne feels you up.
“He will probably be in big trouble with Chelsy now. She either hasn’t seen him behave like this or she’s the most understanding girlfriend in the world.”
Harry, 21, was also snapped planting a kiss on another girl.
Natalie, 27, has been a close pal for years. The politics graduate has dated England cricketer Kevin Pietersen and England rugby star Matt Dawson.
Two months ago Natalie stole down the steps of a flat’s stairwell at 5am after a boozy night to grab a kiss from the Prince.
