Christina defends Britney

Pop star Christina Aguilera has defended fellow singer Britney Spears' parenting skills, insisting she is a great mother. The Beautiful hitmaker - who is reportedly expecting her first child with husband Jordan Bratman - says the pressures of childhood fame have taken its toll on her pal Spears - but she is not a bad parent.

She says:

"Britney is a good person and a good mom. She's been under so much pressure since she was a child. I don't think any of us should judge her or jump to conclusions. She loves her boys and they're turning out great."

Christina wears red lipstick for a reason

Christina Aguilera has finally given the answer to one of her life's greatest mysteries! In the January issue of Glamour magazine, the singer reveals the reason behind wearing her trademark red lipstick.

Regardless of where she is going, Christina never leaves home without that red look. So, when asked if she is obsessed with wearing those ruby lips, she said:

"The red lips are - I don't want to call them "armor," but they're the clothes of my character, and I'm in the business of entertainment...."

While answering if she would feel exposed without her make-up she answered,

"Yeah - there's a witch under this hair [she says laughing]. Would I feel exposed? Yes, in a certain way. I don't see makeup as a defense. I see it as a creative outlet. I am a woman who has my extreme vulnerable side and my baggage - and at times I feel extremely weak".

"And who's to say a little mascara doesn't make you feel more confident when you pop it on and look in the mirror? It helps, especially in my position, where I have people waiting down the street to take pictures of me so they can evaluate and criticize every little flaw on my face. I suppose that's where the armor would come into the picture."

Christina Aguilera tricked into wearing fur

Anti-fur advocate Christina Aguilera is furious with designer Roberto Cavalli after he tricked her into wearing real fur onstage, Starpulse reports. The Italian couturier is designing all the outfits for the singer's current world tour, and was reportedly instructed by Aguilera not to include any real animal fur.

But Cavalli admitted to magazine Women's Wear Daily he sent her a stole made from real white fox fur, which she subsequently slipped on to perform gigs in Europe.

Aguilera was tipped off by PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) vice president Dan Mathews, who sent her an email with a link to a video showing foxes getting killed by anal electrocution for their fur.

The singer quickly replied, saying she was "very upset" insisting she "only ever wears fake fur". She has now replaced the stole for a fake fur version, in time for gigs in Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic this month.
