Britney's comeback single

britneyspearshat.jpg

Britney Spears' comeback single 'Gimme More' debuted on a New York radio station's website yesterday.

Just minutes after the track was leaked on several US gossip sites, the racy dance track was given its official unveiling on Z-100's website.

The song is extremely sexual with very feisty lyrics and ends with producer Nate 'Danjahandz' Hills saying, "Bet you didn't see this coming."

Britney - due to make an attention-grabbing comeback performance when she opens the MTV Video Music Awards on September 9 - is expected to release her fifth studio album next month.

Singer-songwriter Ne-Yo - who worked with Britney on several tracks for her comeback album - said:

"She's got to remind people why they love her in the first place. She's got to get their minds off her personal life and back on the music.

"I think it's possible she can make a comeback. I heard a lot of the music. I definitely think she can do it."

Owen Wilson did attempt suicide

owenwilsonapron.jpg

Rumors ran rampant throughout Hollywood that Owen Wilson may have attempted to take his own life early Sunday, claiming the 'Wedding Crashers' star cut his wrist and took a large quantity of pills.

Extra has learned from a source close to Owen Wilson that the actor did indeed attempt suicide over the weekend.

The source revealed to Extra that Wilson has been depressed for the last few months, but insisted it is not over a broken relationship.

Meanwhile, ET reports that Wilson is currently under observation at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

The sources say that for the first 48-72 hours, he'll be under observation. He has a 24-hour nurse or sitter staying with him and that he'll be in the hospital for at least four days.

Owen is staying in a ward which is referred to as the "celebrity" unit and has rooms described as suites. Several members of Owen's family, including actor brother Luke, have visited him today.

Jordin Sparks new single to be released today

jordinsparksorange.jpg

Given the multiplatinum, Grammy-winning successes of fellow "American Idol" winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks is feeling pressure to make her own mark on the music world.

It's a lot to live up to.

The bubbly 17-year-old told AP on Wednesday:

"They've risen the bar so high and I'm like,`I hope I can reach it. I'm trying to reach it! I just really hope that when (my CD) comes out it'll be great and maybe as good as theirs. And hopefully it'll sell well and people will like it."

She offers a taste of the disc with her new single, "Tattoo," to be released on AOL's PopEater music blog Friday and to radio stations Monday. The poppy tune about ending a romance had the Sparks seal of approval from the beginning. It was love at first listen.

"Right after I heard the first chorus, I was like, `I wanna sing that song. I have to have it. I wanna sing it."

Sparks, the youngest winner in the Fox show's six seasons, said her debut album, set for Nov. 20, will be a musical mixture of styles including pop-rock -- in the edgy key of Clarkson, one of her role models -- and the dramatic ballads that made her stand out on the "Idol" stage. She hopes to add some country, too.

This girl's got goals -- among them, to "maybe win a couple Grammys ... Maybe be happy with somebody. Maybe act in a movie. Maybe do Broadway."

Sparks is still coming to terms with celebrity. Seeing her picture in glossy magazines is surreal. But she'd rather be in the spotlight than out of it.

"I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. It's just been so amazing. You know, it's hard because I go outside and I'm instantly recognized and I'm like, oh my gosh, because it happened overnight, literally."

Sparks, who is out on the "American Idol" tour, remains tight with her fellow finalists. That includes Sanjaya.

"It's abnormally weird how well we still get along. We're still like any dysfunctional family where we get on each other's nerves, but, at the end of the day, we're still just like, 'Hey, you wanna hang out?"'

The gang recently saw the hit comedy, "Superbad," which has no shortage of R-rated raunch.

"It was so funny and I feel bad because I didn't expect it to be as vulgar as it was. But I laughed anyway!"

Hayden Panettiere turns 18, talks to David Letterman

haydenpanettieredavidletterman1.jpg

Hayden Panettiere plans to celebrate turning 18 with a big party – and notes that the milestone also allows her to indulge in a few previously forbidden vices.

Asked by David Letterman on his Late Show Monday what the big birthday means to her, the Heroes star answered:

"I don't think much changes when you're 18 – maybe the way people treat you. But I think the only things I can do is buy cigarettes, porn and, if I get in trouble with the law, I'm kind of screwed."

After a momentary thought, she added that one additional bonus of being 18 is being able to tell her parents during a fight, "You can't talk to me like that, I'm an adult."

When Letterman expressed some disappointment in her response, saying that he was "hoping for something a little more inspirational," and asked about the ability to vote, Panettiere said she planned to register on Tuesday.

The actress is getting involved with Norman Lear's "Declare Yourself" campaign. As Panettiere explained:

"It's stressing how important it is to vote and to be part of your election, so I'll be registering to vote."

As for how she plans to celebrate her natal day, she said:

We're going to have a big party. I think it will be me biggest party yet – except for when I was 2, my mom used to get the big [inflatable] Moon Bounces and we had a hell of a party."

Matt Damon too old for Star Trek

mattdamonwet.jpg

Matt Damon was overlooked for the new 'Star Trek' movie for being too old.

'The Bourne Ultimatum' star called director J.J. Abrams after being linked to the long-awaited movie, the eleventh in the sci-fi series based on the original 60s TV show, but received disappointing news.

The 36-year-old actor said:

"I kept hearing that I was going to be in the new Star Trek movie. So I finally called J.J. Abrams to ask him what they deal was and he said, 'No way, you are way to old.'

"They are planning on doing Captain Kirk and Spock from when they first left flight academy or whatever. Guys 15 years younger than me are playing the parts."

He added:

"Eventually I would like to make some. But I only respond to the material comes to me. If a great kids' movie come along I would love to do that."

Madonna shoots up on plane

madonnablackdress.jpg

Madonna shocked passengers on a recent transatlantic flight after witnesses claim she whipped out a needle and started injecting herself with vitamins, metro.co.uk reports.

Her startling energy boost came after sources say the queen of pop endured the seven hour journey without eating any food and drinking only bottled water.

A passenger on the flight said:

'Just before landing she brought out the phials of vitamins and injected herself.'

'Seven hours is a long time to go without eating. She was also very quiet and only spoke to the air staff to ask for water.'

The claims come on the eve of the super-fit mum's 49th birthday, which she will celebrate later this week.

Recently she has surprised fans in a string of paparazzi shots that show her arms looking extra muscular and veiny.

A spokeswoman for the songstress said she 'would not comment' on whether the star uses vitamin jabs.

Other celebrities who are rumoured to use the energy boosting shots include rehabbers Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears.

Baby Spice and boyfriend welcome a baby boy

emmabuntonboyfriend.jpg

Emma Bunton gave birth to her own Baby Spice today - a boy called Beau.

The Spice Girl, 31, and boyfriend Jade Jones's first baby was born at 11.12am at London's private Portland Hospital.

Bunton's spokesman said she was "doing fine" and the first request the singer had following the birth was for Coca-Cola and flapjacks.

Delivering the good news outside the hospital, the beaming new father said:

"Baby's had a baby now.

"It's pretty good, just amazing. We're both over the moon and absolutely thrilled to bits to have our little boy with us now."

Jones said Beau was "beautiful".

He said:

"His name is French for handsome and he is definitely very handsome.

"He weighted 7lb 15oz and is just gorgeous. Emma is upstairs doing really well, just recovering and bonding with the baby.

"Both are having a little nap right now.

"I'm just pleased to have our little baby boy with us. I'm over the moon. I don't want to miss a single second without him."

He joked of the new arrival: "He looks a bit like both of us actually, so he's a very lucky boy.

"It [the birth] still feels like a minute ago. It's an amazing feeling, which I can't describe."

Bunton was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2004, a condition which can make it difficult to conceive.

She and Jones, a former member of Nineties boy band Damage, have been together for eight years and finally moved in together last year.

Lily Allen fans condemn US government

lilyallengreendress.jpg

Lily Allen's fans have labelled the US government "pathetic" for their decision to refuse her a US visa.

The British singer was refused a visa when she landed on in Los Angeles on Sunday.

There has been confusion about why Allen was singled out for the refusal, although there has been speculation that it relates to an incident in London in March, in which the singer kicked a photographer.

Allen was not charged for the incident by police, which has led to confusion as to why she was stopped in the US.

She wrote on her blog that she hoped US officials weren't using internet search engines to gather information used to make visa decisions.

Her fans have been quick to condemn the US government's decision.

"This visa thing is ridiculous," wrote forum user 'Sydneyyy' on Lily Allen's official website.

'Stephen', meanwhile, branded the Visa debacle "pathetic".

US fan 'Green Eyed Girl' posted a comment to Allen, saying, "That's our government for you. Sorry! I didn't vote for 'em."

Britney's topless romp

britneyspearstoplesspool1.JPG

Britney Spears romped in a pool with a complete stranger just hours after her music video meltdown.

The Sun reports the crazed singer pawing at student Mike Encinias soon after sobbing uncontrollably at the shoot for her new single.

Onlookers watched in shock as Brit - who divorced Kevin Federline days later - stripped at a hotel pool.

Brit swigged from a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and downed Mojito cocktails before flashing her breasts and playing a game of truth or dare.

American Mike kept his trunks on as straggly-haired Brit - who had a 1999 hit with Crazy - groped him.

Mike was an extra on the video shoot and says she later tried to seduce him in her hotel suite - while wearing nothing but a pair of pink pants.

britneyspearstoplesspool2.jpg

He said:

“I went in and found Britney lying on the bed with her knees up and just a pair of pink panties on.

“She was looking like she was ready - and I wanted to finalise it.”

Britney and Mike had been passionately kissing in the pool of downtown LA’s Standard Hotel just a few hours earlier.

The singer had pulled the plug on the pole-dancing shoot for Give Me More after breaking down and sending the crew home.

Britney’s assistant hand-picked Mike and a group of male pals to go to her hotel for drinks by the pool.

Mike explained:

“Britney was drinking Mojitos and she’d been drinking some Jack Daniel’s

“Suddenly she shocked everyone by just stripping out of her top.

“She went into the pool topless - her boobs were exposed and she had a drink in her hand and a hat on with sunglasses.”

Mike says he kissed Britney after her assistant told him the singer wanted to “make out” with him.

He said:

“She straddled me and put her legs around me.

“When I started kissing her I did everything in my power - from my previous experience of kissing girls - not to mess it up.

“Britney had more drinks - she was having Jack and more Mojitos in between me feeling her up, her boobs, and kissing her on her neck.

“Her body was very nice. It was sexual and sensual kissing. It took some effort to perfect.

“She is a great kisser - I’d actually say a phenomenal kisser.”

Mike was invited back to Britney’s suite once the party was over at 4am.

He was planning to spend the rest of the night in her bed — until one of his friends collapsed and nearly drowned from all the booze he had downed.

Britney’s bodyguards stepped in and ordered Mike to take his mate home.

Mike added:

“In the end we had to say our goodbyes.”

Backstreet Boys without Kevin

backstreetboysinconsolable.png

Their new single "Inconsolable" hits radio this month, but it doesn't describe how the Backstreet Boys felt when Kevin Richardson told them during a conference call last year that he was sitting out their sixth album, due Oct. 30.

Nick Carter said:

Despite feeling kind of a shock, everyone understood. There were no hard feelings and that's just the way it needs to be. We've been through a lot in 14 years together, and there's no need to get angry or overly emotional."

In fact, the group – Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McClean – still talk to Richardson, whose wife Kristin gave birth to son Mason in July.

Howie Dorough said:

"I just saw Kevin a couple days ago. He's got a glow that is unbelievable, and I'm happy for him. And he's happy for us as well – he's not bitter. He's totally like, 'I want you guys to do your thing and not have weirdness.' "

The as-yet untitled new album features the usual Backstreet Boys fare that fans expect, says Carter:

"Dance tracks, poppy rock songs, really beautiful ballads and R&B vocals. We're being what we are and have been for years. There are no catches. We just want to cater to the fans."

As the former boy-banders promote the new CD, Carter, 27, also will be showing off a new, trimmer physique.

"I lost more than 40 pounds," says the singer, who worked out one hour a day, five days a week for six months to slim down from 223 pounds.

Carter says he put the weight on because he was depressed.

"With my show The House of Carters, it was a shock to me to realize what my family had gone through. After so many years of dysfunction and my parents finally getting divorced and everybody being lost and me being the oldest, there was a lot of stress, a lot of pressure."

"So I finally concentrated on my health, even went to some therapy. They say it starts on the inside. And it's nice when people look at you and think, 'Wow, he got his stuff together.' "

Between promotional trips for his family's Dorough Lupus Foundation (founded in honor of his late sister), Howie D, 33, has been in the studio working on his first solo album.
Dorough, who just recorded nine demo songs with Jon Secada in Miami said:

"A kind of Latin/English thing. It's kind of Spanglish, kind of Latin with a little bit of a samba vibe."

But don't expect his first solo effort – or the second Christian album that Brian Littrell, 32, is working on – to derail the band that made them famous.

Promises Dorough:

"Backstreet Boys comes first."

Adds Carter:

"This album is definitely going to be a little different when there's only four of us, but the door's always open for Kevin whenever he wants to come back."

Sarah Jessica Parker: Heels Ruined My Body

sarahjessicaparkerblackdress.jpg

Sarah Jessica Parker insists playing fashionista Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City has permanently damaged her physique. The actress, who starred as the iconic journalistic in the hit series, admits constantly wearing high-heeled shoes on set has taken its toll.

She says:

"I used to spend 18 to 20 hours filming in heels. I've totally destroyed my body by running and dancing in heels. My knees are shot."

Parker admits she isn't a fan of character Carrie's signature beverage - the vodka and Cointreau combination of the Cosmopolitan cocktail.

"I've had many Cosmopolitans sent across to me in bars, but I always think, 'God, if I could get this into a bottle, I could clean so much stuff at home.'"
