Sofia Coppola is pregnant
Sofia Coppola is expecting her first child with boyfriend Thomas Mars.
The couple announced their pregnancy at the Cannes Film Festival where Coppola’s latest film, Marie Antoinette, premiered last week. Mars is the lead singer of the French band Phoenix, which makes a cameo serenading the French queen in Coppola’s film.
Last month, the pair enjoyed a romantic weekend together in Palm Springs when Mars was in town to play at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California. Coppola, 35, was seen beaming from the side of the stage as her man’s band performed.
“She seemed so into it. She went everywhere with him. They never left each other’s side!” an eyewitness told Us at the time. The parents-to-be spent the rest of the weekend poolside at the Parker hotel, strolling hand-in-hand outdoors while enjoying the desert sun.

Michelle Rodriguez is released from jail
Michelle Rodriguez of Lost was released from Los Angeles County Jail on Thursday after serving a mere four hours and 20 minutes of her two-month jail sentence.
"Needless to say, our prosecutors are not happy about this," says a spokesperson for the L.A. City Attorney's office. "But the sheriffs have a policy to let some nonviolent offenders go early, in part due to jail overcrowding."
Rodriguez, 27, must perform 30 days of community service and is on two years probation.
On May 22, Rodriguez was sentenced to 60 days in jail for violating probation due to her DUI arrest last December in Hawaii.
In April, Rodriguez was sentenced to five days in an Oahu jail for her December 1, 2005, DUI arrest on the island. She served just 65 hours because the time she'd spent in custody after her arrest counted toward her sentence.

The singer revealed that she wanted her new album 'Loose' to be dirtier and sexier than her previous records.
She told Britain's Arena magazine: "This album is really sexually assertive in the way TLC used to be. I'm admitting to all my fans that I am a woman and I love to have sex.'
The brunette also confessed that when she worked as a chambermaid, she saved up to buy some sexy accessories.

Naomi is to lead the cast in the BBC-developed movie 'Eastern Promises.'
The 37-year-old will play a midwife who gets dragged into Russian criminal gangs after trying to discover the identity of a dead patient.
The thriller about London's seedy underbelly will also star Viggo Mortensen – who worked with Cronenberg on A History Of Violence – as a Russian crime boss.

It's a girl for Angelina and Brad
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have welcomed a baby girl, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, a rep for the couple confirms in a statement to People Magazine.
The child was born on May 27, at night, in the African country of Namibia.
The new parents, along with kids Maddox, 4, and Zahara, 1, have been staying at a luxury resort in Namibia since April, where their personal security team and Namibian police have shielded them from paparazzi.
Last week, the Namibian government said foreign journalists wishing to cover the birth must have written permission from Pitt and Jolie to enter the country and obtain a work permit.

Baby boy for Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, welcomed their first child - a baby boy, together on Friday, named Kingston James McGregor Rossdale.
The baby weighed 7 1/2 pounds and was born with a thick thatch of hair.
Stefani gave birth at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Both mother and child are doing well, said her rep.

Jude Law linked to Aussie Monk
Jude Law has been romantically linked to Australian singer-turned-actress Sophie Monk.
In recent weeks, ex-Bardot band member Monk, 26, has reportedly been "canoodling" with Law at Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont hotel, according to the Sydney Daily Telegraph.
The Date Movie beauty's publicist says, "I think she has bumped into him once or twice. I don't know if they were canoodling. As far as I know there wasn't anything serious going on with one another."
Monk has recently been linked to Transporter hunk Jason Statham--ex-boyfriend of British model/actress Kelly Brook.
Jude Law has been single since splitting from his on/off girlfriend and ex-fiancée Sienna Miller in January.

Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe are divorcing.
"Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe have jointly decided to divorce," the couple's lawyer, Jeffrey A. Bernstein, tells People Magazine. "They continue to be friends and have the utmost respect for one another."
The couple, who wed in 1997, announced in January that they were separating. "Hilary and Chad have decided to separate, but they are hopeful they'll be able to get through this tough time," Swank's rep, Troy Nankin, said in a statement at the time.
The couple met at a 1992 Hollywood Athletic Club bash. "I went to a party with Leo DiCaprio, and Chad was there," Swank said. "We just started talking."
According to Lowe, "It was like the old cliché where you see somebody, lock eyes across the room, and time stands still. ... I said, 'I would love just to take you to lunch.' Then I worked my way up to dinner. We had lunch, we had dinner and then some."
Swank called it "love at first sight."
The marriage was the first for both. They have no children.

Rachel Bilson and her dog
Rachel Bilson has a morbid fear of beagles after one of the dogs tried to rip her face off when she was a child.
"I hate them (beagles) and I'm not afraid to say the word 'hate'."
But Bilson isn't afraid of all dogs - her constant companion is a pit-bull terrier, which was a gift from her boyfriend Adam Brody. She admits the canine birthday gift was a real test for her because she feared she would be terrified of her new pet.
She adds, "Last year Adam showed up with this big pit bull and said, 'Happy birthday! Here's your dog! Her name is Penny!' "I was, like, 'Let me get this straight. You picked out my dog. It's a pit bull.'" The actress quickly warmed to her new companion, which she renamed Penny Lane.

If anything's going to bring Kate Moss back to the scene, it is her new ads for Longchamp's autumn/winter 2006-7 campaign. The new campaign, which was shot by Mario Sorrenti in New York last month, "focused on her interpretation of the mythically seductive worlds of yesteryear stars Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot."
The ads are due to feature in magazines from August and on posters later in the year.

African Chief to name Brangelina's baby
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have apparently given Namibian Governor Samuel Nuuyoma the honour of picking their baby's name.
"When she goes to the hospital, as the father of the region, I will be informed and I will go there.
"I will announce the good news and I will be naming the baby."
Nuuyoma refused to reveal what names he has considered for the most anticipated celeb baby of the year, which is due within days.
But he described Brad and Ang as "good people, peace-minded and ready to help".

"Better to be killed in a car wreck," says Mischa
Mischa Barton says that she left The O.C so as not to become the victim of, “one of those lame farewells.”
"Well, I was really excited that I get to die, to be honest," the 20-year-old actress tells Newsweek magazine in an interview. "I've done pretty much everything else with the character. It was better than one of those lame farewells."
"But I really think it's best to do movies now," says Barton, who co-stars with Hayden Christensen in "Guilty Pleasures," slated for release next year.
"I was also thinking of spending a month in London, living there and taking a course in acting," she says. "Sometimes it's nice to go back to your roots."
Asked if she will ever return in a dream sequence, she said,
"Oh, God. I hope not. That would be cheesy."

Nicole Kidman is reportedly getting married to Keith Urban without a prenuptial agreement.

Sony/Columbia Pictures may bring Dan Brown's other novel, Angels and Demons, featuring Robert Langdon to the big screen.
Jeff Blake, vice-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, says “We are very interested in filming 'Angels and Demons.' We hope that the relationship with Dan Brown will be a long one. That could be the next project.”
The book tells the story of Langdon’s brush with another shadowy secret society, the Illuminati, and his frantic quest for the world’s most powerful energy source, in the company of a beautiful Italian physicist whose father, a brilliant physicist, has been murdered.

Jessica Alba is set to play her role of 'Fantastic Four' Susan Storm in a sequel to the 2005 movie.
The movie's success was nothing out of the ordinary, but the fans of the comic were pleased so there will be a sequel in 2007.

Marissa Cooper of The O.C is dead
Marissa Cooper, played by Mischa Barton was killed in a car crash on the show's season 3 finale.
Marissa's death came at the end of an otherwise upbeat episode.
The class of 2006, which includes Marissa, Ryan, Seth and Summer, graduated from Harbor High School. Seth and Summer were accepted by the same college. Ryan was reunited with his mother, who gave him a Land Cruiser as a graduation gift. Marissa's mom gave her a pearl necklace, while her dad gave her an opportunity to work with him on a yacht set to sail around the Greek islands.
Ryan was taking Marissa to the airport in his new SUV when they were antagonized at high speed by a drunken and vengeful Volchok, who they both had a history with. Volchok swigged from a flask as he chased the pair in his car.
Ryan lost control of the Land Cruiser and crashed, the vehicle rolling off the road. He pulled Marissa from the wreckage just before the vehicle caught fire.
There, on the side of the road, she died in his arms.

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills - Another high profile divorce dispute
Paul McCartney could lose up to a quarter of his estimated $1.56-billion fortune after separating from his second wife Heather Mills. That would equate to roughly $1.9 million for every week of their short-lived four-year marriage.
After their separation was announced, McCartney denied that Heather had ever been attracted to his fortune, estimated by the Sunday Times Rich List at 825 million pounds ($1.56 billion).
"It's been suggested that she married me for the money," he said. "There is not an ounce of truth in this."
In an interview before her marriage, Mills said she had offered to sign a pre-nuptial agreement but McCartney had turned down the offer.

Kate Moss kisses Hugh Grant's girlfriend
Kate Moss happily engaged in a lesbian kiss with British socialite Jemima Khan for a charity donation of GBP60,000 ($108,000).
The supermodel, who was dogged by controversy after she was photographed snorting cocaine last year, was due to kiss business tycoon Philip Green after he paid for the pleasure at a recent charity auction for the Hoping Foundation For Palestinian Refugee Children. But Green declined to accept a passionate one-minute kiss from Moss in the presence of his wife Tina, so he handed the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to the person he outbid - Hugh Grant's girlfriend Khan.
One eyewitness said: "We thought it was going to be a kiss on the cheek. It lasted just over 60 seconds. A few people were shocked but everyone was laughing after."

Ellen DeGeneres's visit to Tulane University
Tulane University graduates got a triple dose of celebrity at their commencement ceremony today.
First up, they heard from former Presidents Bush and Clinton, followed by a surprise visit from comedian Ellen DeGeneres. She's from New Orleans and returned to her hometown yesterday for the first time since Hurricane Katrina struck.
DeGeneres joked that she never passes up an opportunity to follow two former presidents.
She also told the grads their hurricane experience will serve them well, helping form and shape them.
While in town, DeGeneres also helped open a restaurant that was given away on her talk show to a New Orleans resident who lost her home and business.

Naomi Watts to become special envoy for UN AID
"King Kong" star and Oscar nominee Naomi Watts of Australia has agreed to serve as special representative for the Joint United Nations Program on AIDS (UNAIDS), it was announced.
The British-born actress will make the formal announcement at UN headquarters Monday at an event attended by UNAIDS deputy executive director Deborah Landey, a UN spokesman said.
The 37-year-old Watts, whose other screen credits include the horror flick "The Ring", "I Heart Huckabees" and David Lynch's acclaimed drama "Mulholland Drive", will use her celebrity status to raise AIDS awareness and champion the needs of AIDS patients worldwide, officials said.

Pop star Britney Spears told late-night talk show host David Letterman she's pregnant again. "Don't worry, Dave, it's not yours," Spears told the comedian in a taping of his CBS show airing Tuesday night. Letterman responded, "Oh. Well, I think that's good news for both of us."
After Spears read the show's Top Ten list, Letterman asked, "So, we've established now that you are in fact pregnant, is that right?"
Spears answered: "Yes, sir" - confirming media reports and ending much speculation.

According to the Daily Mail, Burke had a live-in girlfriend at the time and the relationship with Moss didn't last long.
Gal pals Lohan and Moss gave men everywhere something to think about when the two visited the legenday New York City strip club Scores back in January, right after Kate's Aspen romp with James. According to Page Six, Lohan and Moss put on a "steamy pole-dance show for 400 slack-jawed male patrons."

Adam Sandler has become a dad.
His wife Jackie and the couple’s first child are both healthy, according to a message on Sandler’s website.
People magazine reported that the baby was a girl, and was born on Saturday in Los Angeles.
Under the headline “Sandler had a kid!!” the website says: “Kid is healthy!! Wife is healthy!!“.
Sandler, 39, married model and actress Jackie, 31, in 2003.

Tom resorts to 'lifts' in his shoes to raise his height
Everyone knows that Tom is shorter than Katie. But how is it that on the red carpet at the L.A. premiere of "M:i:III" the other night, Tom and Katie were exactly the same height?
And Katie was wearing what appeared to be white patent leather Roger Viviers that come with a 3 1/4-inch heel — which would have raised her height to over 6 feet.
So how is it that Tom could stand with her eye to eye, when he should have been staring at her chin?
Cruise's spokesman, Paul Bloch, insisted that nothing was out of the ordinary: "He had normal shoes on."
But the most plausible answer appears to be lifts — which, when built inside the heel of a standard dress shoe, can easily add inches.
After viewing photos of TomKat at the L.A. opening, where their knees were at the same level and Cruise's trousers were pooling around his ankles, Manhattan podiatrist Rock Positano said: "If the pants are all the way down to the ankle, you really can't see how much heel the person has.
"There's a lot of ways you can camouflage lifts," said Positano. "Occasionally we will see people who put lifts in their shoes for height, but we don't do it and we don't recommend it. Someone could hurt their knees or throw their backs out."
Nicole Kidman once joked on Letterman that, after her split from Cruise, "I can wear heels." But it looks like Tom is the one in heels now.

An old stereo player which Eminem learned how to rap on is being sold by his grandmother for $5,000.
Betty Kresin says the young Eminem - real name MARSHALL MATHERS III - would sing over music on the boom box belonging to his uncle. Kresin, 64, from Kansas City, Missouri, says, "Ronnie had this stereo in his bedroom and him and Marshall would go up there and crank this thing up. "They would play records and start rapping over the music and tape it. "In the summer, when the windows were open, the neighbours would go crazy. But Marshall didn't care."

Victoria and David Beckham are considering having sex standing up - to guarantee they have a baby girl.
David who has three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, with Victoria is reportedly so desperate for a little girl he's started researching ways to dictate a baby's sex.
"David is really keen for Victoria to have another baby. But he wants a girl. And when David wants something, he gets pretty obsessed.
"He's found out through talking to people that you have more chance of conceiving a girl if you do things like have sex standing up on certain days of the month.
"He's even checked out this website that claims to guarantee a couple having a baby girl, and there's a book called 'Determining The Sex Of Your Baby', which is all about whether you can plan to have a boy or a girl."
Victoria has even picked a name for a baby girl - Luna. She revealed: "I love the word Luna. I know it's a girl's name, so maybe for the next baby."
However, it is feared the former Spice Girl could be jeopardising her health if she has another baby. Women like Victoria, who have caesareans, are at greater risk of complications, and the risk is said to increase each time.
"Victoria knows all this, but she also knows how delighted David would be to have a daughter."

Tom & Katie pre-nuptial agreement
Tom and Katie have signed a £22million pre-nuptial agreement. An £8million trust has already been set up for Miss Holmes, 27, and the couple's two-week-old daughter Suri, regardless of whether the couple marry or not.
Sources say if they do marry and later divorce, Miss Holmes will receive an additional £14million from Cruise, who is said to be worth £250million.
